Overall Band Score 8.0!

by kai on 25/06/2005

Yeah! As some of you might know, I was studying English with Wall Street Institute in Germany during the last months to improve my English. For several reasons I decided to take the IELTS exam recently (International English Language Testing System) - you never know what you might need it for ;-)) Today I got my Test Report Form and ...drumsticks... got an Overall Band Score of 8.0 (out of 9.0)…

Finding the best setting for simulatenous requests in CF

by kai on 15/06/2005

Life is always surprising, ColdFusion as well. If one talks about finding the best or just a good value for the simulatenous requests setting in your ColdFusion server, the recommended approach is to start with a value of 3 to 5 per CPU. Usually this works pretty good, maybe you have to adjust the values to 6 or 8 or even 2, but this time it was a bit different. I spent the last two days to…

The new style

by kai on 09/06/2005

Finally... the new style is online. I couldn't stand the old look & feel of this blog over the last months. People knowing me are aware of me being design challenged, so I decided to go with a nice template and just reconfigure it to my needs. And here we are, it took me several nights during the last week to get it done, but today I just had to upload the style sheets and it worked ;) By the…

by kai on 09/06/2005

Ben Forta just announced that the new release of his CF Certified Developer Study Guide book have been shipped. There are 164 questions and you…

A CF7 Flash forms double thumb slider

by kai on 08/06/2005

But I needed a slider with two thumbs, so I took their code and extended/changed it a bit. The result is available in my CF7 playground. This slider was (and still is...) a tough one,…

by kai on 08/06/2005

I started my tiny CF7 playground after I found some time to put all this stuff online. If you have a look at http://mx7.bloginblack.de/cf7playground besides the CF_TWOSELECTSRELATEDFF example you'll find another "component" I built: A double thumb slider for CF 7 Flash forms (more about it in my next post...).

Awesome news: Macromedia joins Eclipse Foundation

by kai on 06/06/2005

This is great: Macromedia announced to join the Eclipse foundation and to create a "next-generation rich Internet application development tool," code-named Zorn, based on Eclipse. The full story including comments and citation of Kevin Lynch is available on news.com. As a first impression from my point of view: awesome news, this is the right move. Even if "Zorn" probably won't be available as…
