Autism Quotient and computer science

by kai on 25/10/2004

This is an interesting one. Prof. Gunter Dueck, an IBM Distinguished Engineer, is publishing his personal scientific thoughts on the IT world regularly in the German Informatik Spektrum. The latter is a magazine (six issues per year) which is published by the German Society of Computer Science (GI) for its members, which I'm a member of. It's really worth to have a look on his articles, I don't…

iX international - pilot issue

by kai on 25/10/2004

iX, a German IT magazine which I publish articles in regularly, is available in an international version now. The pilot issue 0 is online for free on their web server

The editors appreciate all interested people to download issue 0 and answer some questions on the feedback form. Sadly there isn't one of my articles in the international pilot...;)

But give it a try, it's really worth reading!

They are looking for an experienced and well-performing web developer for highend and complex CF and J2EE projects. They'd like to hire someone permanently and are located in the near Munich area. I post this at this place because they don't care from where you come from, but very good Englisch language…

The wonderful and best-ever German MX Magazin got a new publisher. Stefan D'Amores publication will be published by the Software & Support Verlag, which already owns seven German mags around the IT and developers world dealing with different languages and technologies from .NET over Java up to PHP. Stefan stays in the editorial team for now and I guess there won't be a too big change in the guild…

T-Mobile and Flash Lite - it's there!

by kai on 17/09/2004

T-Mobile UK started a news push service called News Express. The interesting fact about that is that it's based on the FlashLite player for Symbian cell phones like the Nokia 3650, 7610, 6600 etc or some other Symbian based devices. So, the software for News Express itself is free of charge, you'd have to pay for the content. I tried to download the software although it's just available for the…

Macromedia goes iPOD

by kai on 16/08/2004

Christian Cantrell and Mike Chambers created Take-Away, a collection of mp3 audio files containing the latest Macromedia community news aggregated by MXNA. The nice feature is: I could try to convice the tax authority to accept my iPOD as a tax expense, because I use it for work now ;)

Take-Away allows you to download textual news which appear as notes on your iPOD or to download the real audio stuff which is read by a computer voice.
